The XII International Human Rights Colloquium will take place in São Paulo, Brazil from October 13 to 20, 2012. The annual event, created in São Paulo in 2001, has been a training and networking opportunity for human rights activists and scholars from the Global South (Africa, Asia and Latin America). We count on you to circulate this call among your contacts, Facebook and Twitter.
The XII Colloquium will address the “Innovation in Human Rights: Rethinking Agendas and Strategies in the Global South”. The XII Colloquium will approach, from a Global South perspective, the link between the economic development and human rights violation and also the limits of the international community in dealing with crisis or conflict situations. Furthermore, it aims to discuss collectively the importance of the use of technology for the defense of human rights and the autonomy of Global South organizations in the production and research related to human rights issues.
Application to the Colloquium can be made directly online at its website www.conectas.org/coloquio until July 27. A limited number of partial and full scholarships are available. For more information, write to: firstname.lastname@example.org
